Chicago MC Taylor Bennett just released the music video for his single, “Happy Place” featuring Brill. The track is the first single off his upcoming project, Broad Shoulders. The video was directed by Thelo Vism who also directed the video for Taylor’s hit song, “New Chevy” featuring King Louie released last year.
The video was shot in a warehouse in Chicago and features Taylor, and some of his closest friends including his Save Money teammate Joey Purp. The brilliant dancing was choreographed and performed by D-Low who you might have seen alongside Taylor’s brother, Chance the Rapper on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert when he premiered his new song “Angels”. The track is the first song off Taylor’s forthcoming mixtape and is produced by Ludlow who is also the executive producer of the project.
“The reason why I made this song is because it’s so relatable for kids in this day and age,” Taylor said. “I wanted to put this song on the album because it’s so alive and it’s so youthful. I’m 19 about to be 20 and I want to credit the fact that I’m young by keeping these memorable moments”.
Broad Shoulders is Taylor’s follow up to his Freshman Year: 1st Semester EP. His last full length project, Mainstream Music featured Rockie Fresh, King Louie, Lil Herb and more. The project will be released later this month. Taylor will also be headlining Chicago’s historic Lincoln Hall venue on December 26, 2015.
