If you’re from the city of Chicago you carry more than just pride, it’s the way you speak, it’s the way you think, it’s embedded in who you are. Recent homegrown Chicago Bulls signee, Dwyane Wade is welcomed home with open arms as “59th & Prairie” displays the attachment between him and the city.

59th & Prairie” is a beautiful ode to Chicago. Wade discusses how important and meaningful his return to the city is to him and shares some of his expectations for himself. After we get to hear from a few other special Chicagoans, scenes of the glistening lakefront begin to cross the screen and a song is heard. Taylor Bennett’s single, “Broad Shoulders” can be recognized immediately and feels like the perfect addition to the film. While viewers hear the impeccable verse playing behind a recap of Lollapolooza 2016, all of this is a lead up culminating with the “Broad Shoulders” chorus. The familiar lines, “Reach for your goals, hear what you’re told…” come in strong and bold as Wade takes the stage to accept a warm homecoming welcome from the Windy City. The addition of “Broad Shoulders” to the film is flawless and adds to the feature’s authentic Chicago feel.
